Authentic as it comes! Don't be fooled by the gas station next to this amazing place. Carne asada burrito is so good! Chips and salsa are also solid. Check it out and you won't be disappointed!!!

We love getting takeout here. Service has always been friendly. Shrimp burrito is my favorite! Grilled fish tacos are also popular. This place sits next to a gas station, but maybe that's part of the charm? I don't hesitate recommending this place.

Updating my review to 5 stars since they have improved the dining room ambience and maintained their cute, dog friendly patio. Food still delicious and wildly consistent. Great tortillas. We recommend the "7 Mares" seafood stew. Generous. For the folks commenting on prices. Everything is expensive everywhere these days.. prices seem on par with the neighbors and area. They could add like a small portion value menu for folks short on change. I do wish they would plant a nice big shade tree for the patio, because its hot out there mid day.

Awesome food, great location off the 101 highway. On site there's a 7/11 right next door. A must if you ever San Diego (Encinitas). A great place for a quick eat or a late night out with a group of friends! I will definitely be back.

We were craving seafood.We found Cancun Mexican and Seafood restaurants on Yelp. We decided to give it a try. The restaurant shares the parking lot with 7- eleven, and also with a gas station where it is located at the back corner. The place was clean.They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were very nice and friendly. They had many delicious dishes in their menu. We ordered; - Deep fried breaded shrimp plate.   5/5 The shrimps,  rice and beans tasted perfect. - seasoned grilled seabass.    5/5 It was such a flavorful and rich dish. - Adobada combo plate. 5/5 - California burritos  & surf and Turf burritos.5/5 & 5/5 The best burritos! It was very flavorful with generous filling. Half of this burrito will make anyone full. Honestly, you can even divide it for three meals. - ceviche Shrimo tostada. 5/5 Tamarindo & Horchata  5/5 This place is really a hidden gem. Everything was perfect; from customer service to quality and quantity of food,to their price. It is a great Mexican restaurant in Encinitas. I can't wait for our next visit when we will go back to Encinitas and specifically Cancun Mexican and Seafood restaurant.

Simply the best service of any place down here. We had our uncle aunt and nieces and all they wanted was great Mexican. We had a seven year old niece who wanted a California burrito, I said that's as big as your arm. She laughed and said that's what I want, and it was great. The rest of us had fried fish burritos, Carnitas and bean burritos. It was all epic. But what made it great was the service, they asked us to call him in the afternoon for a big order and we did. It was there perfectly. Oh did I forget the shrimp cocktail with avocado. Wow. Great spot.

Looking for a good California burrito? This is the spot. Want a good surf and turf burrito, this is the spot. Ceviche was good too if you want seafood. It's on the side of the gas station. Honestly, I came bc I was staying at a nearby hotel and this was within walking and biking distance. I had fancier food the night before and it kind of sucked. I needed to eat something redeeming and this was it. Salsa red and green for the win. 4 tvs to watch and lots of seating inside. Everything was clean and they have free water.
